27TH Wide Bay Water, Bay to Bay Trailable Yacht Race 2007 |

by Colin Verrall Principal Race Officer The winner of the 27th Bay to Bay sailing classic sailed on the waters of our Great Sandy Strait was a Timpenny 670 sailed by Marty Wallace of Brisbane with the boat name Evergreen accurately reflecting the enduring nature of the event. Local boat Wave Dancer sailed by Colin Parkinson of Maryborough wins the Multihull mixed fleet corrected time trophy. Once again this classic event on the Australian sailing calendar attracted the largest fleet in Australian yachting with 181 entries from North, Central and South East Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The large fleet of colourful sails and colourful characters enjoyed excellent sailing conditions across the Great Sandy Strait from Snapper Creek Tin Can Bay to the Urangan Boat Harbour at Hervey Bay. |
